Martin Luther King, Jr. Worship Service
At worship on Jan. 18, 2015, our Social Action Team presented the annual lay-led commemoration of Martin Luther King
Jr. Sunday, with reflections on the resonance of Dr. King's words then and
now.
Steve Scott took the photos below.

Andrew Twaddle, who led the service, read
the opening words, Robert Frost's poem "Stopping by the Woods on a Snowy
Evening."

Andrew lit the chalice.

The congregation sang the first hymn, "Step by Step the Longest
March."
The homily was presented in six parts. TOP ROW FROM LEFT:
Ene-Kaja Chippendale read an article by Martin Luther King, Jr. that
appeared in The Nation magazine; Win Scott presented on "No More
Deaths"; and Steve Mudrick read from a St. Louis Post-Dispatch
editorial about the Michael Brown grand jury proceedings. BOTTOM ROW FROM
LEFT: Sarah Wolcott-Twaddle spoke about gender discrimination; Caya Tanski-
French read the names of people unjustly killed by authorities; and Wiley
Miller spoke of "Miles to Go."

Rev. Molly led the Joys and Sorrows Prayer.
