The Caring Ministries of UUCC engage in acts of material, emotional and pastoral care that deepen our sense of community by supporting members, friends and visitors in times of concern, sadness or crisis, and in times of joy and celebration. The Caring Ministries seek to build a church culture where we rely on one another and experience interdependence and care in our everyday lives.
Caring Ministries
The Caring Ministries consists of a Care Team and a Pastoral Visitors Team.
The Care Team
The Care Team mobilizes the congregation to offer loving material and emotional support to those affiliated with the church in a way that deepens our sense of community and values every person. The Care Team builds structures of care that particularly seek to catch those who often fall through gaps in informal care networks.
Team meetings are held at noon on the third Sunday each month in the Centering Room. Feel free to drop in or reach out for more information.
The Care Team has several areas of focus:
- Meals – after a birth, surgery or illness, etc.
- Rides – to church, medical appointments, etc.
- Memorial Services – for UUCC members
- Cards – joys, sorrows and support
- Visitation – pastoral visits to those needing special attention
- Miscellaneous Projects – such as annual Friendsgiving, holiday baskets, and 80+ luncheon
The team needs more willing volunteers to grow the team and expand its mission. If you are interested in joining, email the Care Team.

The Pastoral Visitors Team
This team collaborates with the minister to offer emotional support, spiritual encouragement, and pastoral care in situations of transition and difficulty. It also helps maintain connection with those in our community who need special attention. In partnership with Rev. Molly. pastoral visitors will each regularly visit several folks in need of care or connection to the congregation. If you would like to receive visits or join the team of visitors, please email Rev. Molly.
