How much money do we need to do our work?

We need to increase our budget from $327,000 to $356,000. This is an increase of $29,000 or 9%.

The increase is necessary to:

  • Bring our staff into fair compensation according to new UUA standards after three years of flat wages alongside rising cost-of-living
  • Keep up with significant building insurance cost increases as climate catastrophes affect the insurance industry and many churches lose coverage entirely
  • Keep up with rising utility rates
  • Fund our five new ministry programs (LGBTQ collective, 20s-30s group, Writing for Spiritual Growth, Art GroUUp, and Congregational Community Organizing)

How is our money spent at UUCC?

  • 70% provides fair wages and benefits for our amazing staff.
  • 30% goes to building maintenance, utilities, software, insurance, UUA, ministry teams, programs, etc.
  • Faith-to-Action giving – We give an additional average of $20,000 per year to charitable community organizations outside of our operating budget.

Where does the money for our annual budget come from?

  • $295,000 – Annual gifts from members. We are supported by 128 individuals and families who pledge gifts ranging from $4 to $2,000 per month. Every gift makes an impact.
  • $30,000 – Rentals, endowment investment interest, fundraising, Sunday offerings and additional gifts from members.

How can I help?

Knowing that not everyone will be able to increase their gift, we are asking those who can to consider a 10-15% increase!
