On Easter Sunday, April 16, 2017, our worship services featured a sermon by the Rev. Molly Housh Gordon, “Of Salvation and Scars,” in which she revisited that ancient story of suffering and redemption central to the Christian tradition and explored what meaning the Easter story of pain, resurrection, and the scars that remain holds for Unitarian Universalists. During the religious education hours at 9 and 11 a.m., the children had their annual hunt for canned food donated by church members and friends. The food will be given to the Food Bank.

The annual YRUU Brunch was held after the 11 a.m. worship service. The brunch was a fundraiser for YRUU’s planned trip to the UUA General Assembly in New Orleans in June. During the brunch there was a traditional Easter egg hunt for the children, and the adults voted for their choice of a person to wear and perform in a bunny costume. Joe Collins “won” the election.
