Your Facilities team has been busy over the past few months. Below are brief descriptions of a few of the projects that are completed or still in progress, but we expect to be done soon.
Downstairs Kitchen
The downstairs kitchen restoration is nearly complete. We hope you like the “pinkish” paint color and the handles on all the lower drawers and cabinets. For the last task, we will hire an electrician to rewire the disposal switch and two wall outlets, which are not working.
Upstairs Kitchen
The upstairs kitchen renovation is moving right along. Two new Bosch dishwashers have been delivered and are installed. We expect the kitchen sink (by the closet) to be replaced as well as the flooring in this kitchen.
Upstairs Bathroom
The upstairs bathroom (the one with windows) has received a bit of our attention recently. The toilet was repaired (new inner parts). In addition, a second cabinet was installed on the wall. This has allowed for a reorganization of the important supplies (e.g., diapers, tampons, pads, birth control items) that are available to all church members and guests to our facility. We expect the loose floor tiles in this room to be addressed in the near future.
Things to Look Forward to this Spring
A new wooden playground platform kit will be purchased and then built/installed by “us.” This will be a BIG project and there will be many opportunities for kids and their parents, as well as anyone else interested, to lend a helping hand. Also, expect the parking lot to be paved and re-striped once the weather warms up.
Parking at UUCC
Have you noticed our parking lot and the street filling up quickly on Sunday mornings? A reminder that we are able to park in the Shepard Elementary School lot across the street from the church. If you have been attending for some years and are able to, please park there to help welcome newcomers with abundant parking.
