An intrepid band of religious liberals gathered together on the evening of Jan. 28, 1951 at the Daniel Boone Hotel (now the old part of City Hall) to discuss establishing a Unitarian community for Mid-Missouri. Through their dreams and efforts the new Columbia Unitarian Fellowship was born.
Since then, our congregation has grown and flourished, struggled at times and continued, and fed our spirits, always, with its curiosity, wide inclusion, and deep love. Read more about our church history.
The 16 photos in the slideshow below were taken at our 75th birthday party at church on the evening of Jan. 30, 2025. About 100 members and friends attended the party, which featured a large – and mostly consumed – birthday cake.
