This year marks a momentous milestone in the life of our congregation at UUCC: Our 75th Anniversary. For three-quarters of a century, this church has been a sanctuary of hope, a center for service, and a spiritual home for generations. As we celebrate this “Diamond Jubilee,” we naturally look back with gratitude at the founders whose vision and sacrifice built the foundation we stand upon today.
While we honor our history, we must also look forward. Legacy Giving is one of the most profound ways we can ensure that our mission continues for the next 75 years and beyond. By including the church in your estate planning, you are not just making a financial contribution; you are making a perpetual “promise of presence” to the generations of believers who will follow us.
We are deeply moved to share that 22 members of our church family have already stepped forward to join the Water Bearers Society. These individuals have formally pledged a legacy gift, signaling their commitment to the long-term health and vitality of our spiritual community. Their foresight ensures that the “living water” of our ministry will continue to flow.
Many of you may have the intention to or have already quietly included the church in your will or estate plans. If you have, please let the Water Bearers Society know. Sharing your intent is not about recognition, it allows the church to plan effectively for the future and gives us the joyful opportunity to thank you for your vision during your lifetime. You can speak with someone in the Water Bearers Society or see the section on planned-giving that is available on the church’s website at https://uucomo.org/home /stewardship/plannedgiving/ for more information.
