[Adopted Nov. 16, 2023]
The purpose of the Emergency Fund is to ensure the continuation of essential church operations in the event that the church operating budget does not hold adequate funds to do so. The Board of Trustees may authorize use of emergency funds under the following conditions:
- The church is at risk of default of financial obligations, such as salaries, insurance, utilities, and debts should the funds not be accessed.
- The church will not be able to carry out essential functions should the funds not be accessed.
- The funds to meet said obligations are not available in any other operating or reserve fund.
- Use of the Emergency Fund aligns with the stated mission and values of UUCC.
The amount in the Emergency Fund shall be at the discretion of the Board, but it is recommended to be no less, when possible, than the equivalent of two months of the current UUCC operating budget.
