As a kickoff to the church year, an All-Church Picnic/Potluck was planned after the 11 a.m. worship service on Sept. 9, 2018. However, because of the cool and damp weather, the picnic was moved indoors. The sanctuary approached capacity for both the worship service and the picnic.

  • Rev. Molly led a blessing of new Intern Minister Alexis.
  • Children and adults participated in a dedication of this year's teachers in our children's religious education program.
  • Jeanne Murphy presented her "Story of Faith" in which she talked about how participation in a Chalice Circle has deepened her relationship with others in the church.
  • Bonnie Johnson, the new leader of our Festival of Sharing Ministry, introduced a Faith-to-Action offering for the ministry.
  • Interim Music Director Marques J. Ruff, at left, led the choir in the offertory, "If I Can Stop One Heart from Breaking."
  • After the 11 a.m. worship service, congregants enjoyed an indoor "picnic." The potluck was moved inside because of the cool, damp weather. Meat and vegetarian hamburgers and hotdogs were provided, and attendees brought side dishes and desserts.
