The Sunday, July 20 Loaves and Fishes meal provided by UUCC volunteers was our first at the new Opportunity Campus location. The dining area is much roomier, with four-top tables, and a clear separation from the overnight area. The need, however, remains the same, with 170 plates of food being served. Some of the clients showed signs of the recent hot weather – sunburns and fatigue.

More help, please! Thank you to the volunteers who provided food and who served. We know this is not everyone’s preferred service, and none of us can make it every month. But we could use more help. How about once per quarter, fix a big tray of vegetables, or a potato casserole? Talk to your Chalice Circle – make it a group event. Sign up to serve with your teen-age child, or that 20-something home on college break. Think about it….
