Matters of Life and Death – Oct. 15, 2023

Date: October 15, 2023

Intern Minister George Grimm-Howell will lead three sessions on “Matters of Life and Death” beginning Oct. 15, 2023. Sessions will be held in the Centering Room. Please bring a brown bag lunch for the first two sessions; the third session will be on a potluck Sunday. Participants do not have to attend all three sessions, although it is encouraged. The sessions will be held from 12:30 to 2 p.m. Here is the schedule:

  • Oct. 15, 2023 – “Facing Death with Life” – a spiritual introduction to the topic with an opportunity to share our experiences with death. What is a life well-lived? What is a good death?
  • Nov. 19, 2023 – “Documenting Wishes” – a turn toward the practical, including how to document end of life wishes for yourself or a loved one. These include medical choices at the end of life and burial or cremation options.
  • Dec. 3, 2023 – “A Life Remembered” – an invitation to consider how you would like your life to be remembered and celebrated. This will include documenting for your family and minister what elements will be important to you in a memorial or funeral service.
